About the lab

Research in our lab seeks to understand the dynamic encoding, storage and retrieval components of memory: how they work, how they change between childhood and old age, and how they interact with other cognitive processes such as attention and metacognition. Our work focuses on how information is represented in the mind, how represented features of the world are linked together through associations, and how we think about and make decisions based on these memory processes.

We develop theories pertaining to these cognitive processes and how they develop. We instantiate these theories in formal computational models of behavior that make precise predictions about performance and allow us to characterize specific cognitive processes and how they change across the lifespan.
